JFK, FDR, and ironically, Teddy Roosevelt, who was the last great republican president. I lived through the Reagan years. He gave us a huge tax increase and left us with, until George W. Bush broke the record and the treasury, a record national debt. And, remember Iran-Contra? I can't figure out why cons have apotheosized the guy. They erroneously give him complete credit for single-handily bringing down the Soviet Union when, in fact, the Soviet Union fell because of its own weight and did so almost three years after Reagan left office. Reagan is vastly over-rated. It just goes to show you how desperate cons are to have a hero. But, he is the best of a bad bunch. The rest were either outright crooks or were barely competent.
